Fair Hearings

Person helping a student apply for CalFresh EBT Foodstamps

If a household is receiving, received, or applied for CalFresh Food benefits and received a Notice of Action (NOA) from the county regarding a denial, change in benefits, or no action taken on the case, the household has the right to appeal and request a Fair Hearing.

Before a Fair Hearing takes place, the county must review the household’s case for accuracy.

A household has 90 days to ask for a Fair Hearing from the day the Notice of Action (NOA) letter is mailed.

Request a Fair Hearing

A household can submit a fair hearing request through the Appeals Case Management System (ACMS) Website. They can create an account or select Submit Appeal Without an Account under Need More Information?
